tractor bento & princess crown bento

We go back to school tomorrow! I am not feeling at all ready for the early morning hustle and bustle, but I have been craving the return of routine.

Since I haven't been bento-ing much this summer I am feeling so unorganized and discombobulated. I can't remember what supplies I have and what goes together. So today I was sifting through my stash, trying to get reacquainted with it all when Paige piped up, "can we pleeeeease have bentos for lunch today?". I obliged. I need the practice and warm-up after all. :)

Tyler's tractor bento:

He had a tractor-shaped peanut butter & fruit preserve sandwich on multi-grain bread, strawberries, cucumber slices and carrots, and a few pretzel sticks surround it.

The tractor is pulling a wagon of hay bales (shredded wheat, heehee!), and the farmer is cheddar cheese and fruit leather, (cut quickly and easily with this cutter set). The tractor was made using a sandwich cutter from my beloved Lunch Punch.

The small piece of green grass barran was added to separate the moist cucumber slices from the sandwich.

Paige's princess crown bento:

She also had a pb&fp (peanut butter & fruit preserve) sandwich, using a shape from the Whimsical Lunch Punch Set. Her crown is surrounded by the following jewels: cucumbers slices (fresh from our garden!), strawberries (with coordinating crown pick), and pretzel sticks (magic wands, if you prefer!).

These bentos were both packed in a bento box that comes with several fitted inner dishes, but I removed two of the three compartments to easily place the food how I wanted it. Nice to have that versatility. :)
