quirky snack: it ain't easy being green

A couple weeks ago I took my oldest son, Ethan, to go see the movie Hugo.

Cheesy grins, before they became popcorn grins. :)

Prior to to the film there were previews, of course. One of them was for the new Muppets movie.  As I watched the trailor I couldn't help but come to two conclusions.

#1 Amy Adams is adorable.

#2 Kermit the Frog looks like a kiwi.

Can you guess what happened next? :)

I had to do it or else the idea would haunt me forever. :)

Kermit is my latest kiwi guy. He's got a fruit leather mouth liner (that sounds weird), and his collar is a slice of cucumber that is cut with a star-shaped cookie cutter, propped up on this upside down flowery shaped bento silicone mini cup. The thing that really makes Kermit recognizable are those eyes.

Icing eyes wouldn't do for this guy. Kermit's eyes are made from m&m's, mint m&m's to be exact. :)

Truth be told, I've never been much of a Muppet fan (though that old cartoon Muppet Babies was a fave) (am I totally dating myself with that confession?). But I have been a lifelong Sesame Street lover, and Kermit did have many appearances in that 'hood back in the day. :)

Kermit the Quirky Kiwi was quickly devoured by my little miss piggy, Paige. Nom.

Wanna see more kiwi guys? I've got the beginnings of a little kiwi guy collection going on. :)

Kermit looks awesome!

And, you're not the only one. We used to watch Muppet Babies every Saturday morning. :)
