squirrelly grown-up PlanetBox lunch

This PlanetBox lunch is mine, all mine!

The large section holds a full sized sandwich of smoked turkey, havarti cheese, mustard and a heap of watercress on multi-grain bread.

The side sections hold garlic-parmesan pretzel thins (YUM YUM YUM!), carrots and apple chunks.

To be silly I pressed a squirrel shaped cookie cutter into the top slice of bread on my sandwich (I did not press it all the way through since that would make it hard to eat and watercress is already kind of tricky to keep contained as it is). Adding to the silliness, I cut out a cheddar cheese acorn to add to the middle treat section. Because really, what is a squirrel without a nut? :)

I've been getting some questions about whether I think the PlanetBox can hold enough food for an older kid, teen, or grown-up. My answer is YES, I think a PlanetBox can hold enough food for a full lunch for a big kid to adult. This is actually more food than I typically eat for lunch. I could have easily had space for more carrots and pretzels, but as it was I had to save the carrots and pretzels for a snack later anyway - this was just too much food for me in one sitting! :) Though to be fair, I *did* eat a lot of apple chunks while I was packing this... I just can't resist those Honeycrisps!

Looks great! Love the squirrel with the acorn cheese. This lunch box is next on my list to buy :)

After seeing the planetbox on your sight I wish I'd have gone with that one instead of the goodbyn. While I love the goodbyn, as does my daughter, it just holds way too much food for my 4 year old and I end up searching for something to fill all the space and most of it gets wasted. Also I don't know if anyone else has this problem but my goodbyn beverage bottle leaks, which makes it hard to leave little treats in the tiny space above the bottle.

Goodbyn did have problems with leaking bottles for awhile (mine never have leaked, but I did read that others were having an issue). I think they might replace your bottle if you pop them an email! They really do have friendly customer service. :)

What do you use to keep apples from browning?

Sometimes I use lemon juice or another fruit juice to keep apples from browning (pour a little in a saucer and just flip the pieces around to coat the cut sides). But some apples don't brown all that much. This is Honeycrisp apple and it stays fresh looking for a long time without any "intervention"! I had about 1/4 of this apple leftover in the fridge in just a regular tupperware bowl and over a day later it still was barely starting to brown at all.
