Scary Halloween EasyLunchboxes lunch...

In the big section:
- mummified hot dog
- vat of blood sauce (ew!) (don't worry, it's just ketchup!)
- fruit leather bats
- "pumpkin slices" (carrot coins)
Smaller sections:
- extra mummy bandages (shredded string cheese!)
- zombie jaws (apple slices & almond slivers)
Close-up of the creepiness:

I saw the mummy hotdogs in a Halloween idea book I picked up a couple months ago, I've since seen the idea replicated on a lot of sites and in some other magazines lately. It's pretty much the same idea as a "pig in a blanket", but using breadstick dough instead of crescent dough and you wrap the hotdog up like a mummy. Bake according to breadstick baking directions. :) I sprinkled garlic powder and garlic salt on my breadstick dough for added flavor and to ward off any vampires that may roam too close.
The zombie jaws are so creepy! And so easy to make. Just arrange apple slices and push in almond slivers. A friendly peep on the Another Lunch Facebook Page mentioned seeing this idea in a Pottery Barn Kids catalog recently, and then I started noticing them in some other magazines too!
I never noticed "apple smiles" (as I've seen them called before) made with almond slivers before, just with marshmallows (glued on with peanut butter - though marshmallow fluff would be a good glue to use in order to avoid nuts)... but the almond slivers definitely look very monsterish!
A quick note about EasyLunchboxes, they will be back in stock and shipping SOON, but any orders placed while they are still on backorder will get a free cooler bag! Just sayin'....

I picked up the Betty Crocker Halloween book a couple months ago and I finally looked at it last night and saw those mymmy hot dogs in there :)
Weird question.... But have you ever seen what the bento lunch looks like at lunch time, after the kids have toted them to school and down to the lunch room? I'm just wondering... :)
Oh this is too cute. I saw this on Kraft, but wondered how it would keep....would it get soggy for lunch? You have the best ideas! Love it:)
Extra creepy for sure Melissa! LOVE it!
If you have a moment some time check out my blog, I shared an award with you, because you know I just can't get enough of your site!

that apple is super creepy! Way to go Mom, bet it was a big hit at school!
I love the apple with teeth! Great ideas!
I love the apple teeth, but I can never make my almonds go in right. They always end up looking less than stellar. Any hints?

Mooo hooo ha ha ha! Very scary indeed. :)
Amazing! The mummy is awesome but the apple smile cracks me up!
Super creepy and awesome!! I am definitely going to be trying out that mouth!
I LOVE the mummy hot dog! I've seen hot dog wraps before, but never thought to make it into a mummy. I will definately need to try this one!
Awesome!! What a treat!
This is seriously gonna give me creepy dreams, so of course I have to share the creepiness with my fans in our EasyLunchbox gallery
I've seen the mouth using PB and candy corn, but I like the crookedy jaggety looking almond teeth better!
Love this! We went to a Halloween party last year where they served mummy dogs on stick (like a corn dog). Great for kids!
Oh, my son would love to get a lunch like this!
This is too cute --infact I think I will even do this some night this week for three teenagers -they think they are so over fun stuff like this but moms secretly know that deep down inside they LOVE it :-)
FUN FUN FUN, Maybe my kids will eat what's in their lunch if I make these!!! LOL!!
Love the idea, but hate that I can't pin the image of the bento! I'd like to pin it to my bento board!
