Top row:
- Hello Kitty cookie (from a color-it-yourself kit from Target)
- pastrami roll-ups and provolone cheese
- apples (it was Johnny Appleseed's birthday!)
Bottom row:
- Wheat Thin Stix and the little sauce case holds hummus
- Hello Kitty sealed PB&J sandwich (with fruit leather features)
- grapes on cute picks
I was a little bummed the sandwich didn't turn out very well this time! I've played with the sandwich maker a few times and this is the worst one I've had by far. The bread was too dry and slightly smushed so it didn't fill out the space very well and didn't cut cleanly. My Paigey Pie was ecstatic (to say the least!) over her Hello Kitty lunch, so all was well. :)
I was especially pleased with the cute Hello Kitty cheese! (cut with a Hello Kitty veggie cutter). Next time I think I might add a little detail with food safe markers so the features are more visible. :)

All the Hello Kitty gear was purchased from JBox/JList (this is a link to the Hello Kitty bento stuff!).
This MTM lunch is linked up at the home of Muffin Tin Monday, click on over to see more MTM fun. :)

I'm so jealous! I love Hello Kitty. Super kawaii lunch.
Audrey has not fallen for Hello Kitty yet. I got her a cute sandwich case at Target but she wanted her sister's Disney Princess one. The trade was made because baby sister does not know any better. Very cute sandwich.
Such a cute tin. I love Hello Kitty but as I have three boys I have to resist buying stuff. I do keep my cards in a Hello Kitty wallet though.
I think the sandwich looks great. I love all the ways you included Hello Kitty in your meal.
The sandwich looks great to me! I've never tried one of those style cutters, but I struggle with the egg press so I can imagine ;-)
This is really adorable! What a great idea for the cheese! I will have to look into buying one of those veggie cutter thingies!
May I request a Dora bento lunch? Would love to see what you come up with! My 2 year old is the ideal bento style eater (loves veggies and fruit and lots of snacky things in small amounts)
My 7 year old is just about impossible, I am hoping one day to find the magic solution to make her eat better / more variety!
so cah-ute I could just die!
Fantastic!! Awesome tin today and am loving the cookie. Everything is perfect, happy MTM :)
aww i love the hello kitty! what kid wouldnt love this muffin tin. my daughter is just starting to like hello kitty too, i'll have to remember this idea.
I love this--I just wish my boys were into Hello Kitty. Oh well.
This is soooooo cute!
Thanks, everyone! :)
Holly, my second son is pretty keen for Hello Kitty too. He went to school today sporting a pink Hello Kitty bandaid on his elbow. Teehee! His choice, he passed righed over Transformers, SpiderMan, Toy Story and Handy Manny in the first aid cabinet - he wanted "the pink kitty cat one!". :)
I have been looking everywhere for those flower shaped silicone mold cups that you use in bentos like this one and can't find them! All I can find are the ones that look like regular cupcake liners. Do you remember where you got these pink ones???
Beth, they come as a set of two, one pink and one yellow. My first set was ordered from Ichiban Kan, before they closed their online store. A friend in CA sent me a second set. :) I see them occassionally on JBox and on ebay.
Thanks, Melissa. I don't suppose you know the brand name? I will keep hunting on ebay and jbox. Hunting is almost as much fun as actually packing the lunches!!
Drama Mama, I'll put on my thinking cap and see what I can come up with for Dora. Hmmm.
Dora's actually on tv right in front of me right now...I'm not feeling very food-inspired by it at all. LOL ;-)
LOVE the tin! And your blog :) I know my DD would love a lunch like this. DS maybe not so much.. ;)
I love the cutie Hello Kitty theme!! I need to get the veggie cutter, what cute cheese it makes!
I can't wait to show this lunch to Mya!!! She is the biggest hello kitty fan!!
and yes, this will result in more shopping :)
WOW! Thanks for the link to the Hello Kitty stuff, my daughter would LOVE this.
Oh my goodness....can this GET any cuter?? I'm going to follow your blog....looks like a ton of great lunch ideas, which I struggle with! TFS!
Very cute! :)
I got my pink flower shaped liners at World Market, for those who are interested. I also got star ones there too.
Amazing! My son loves Hello Kitty ;D
Oh my gosh Melissa, this is so cute! Did you freehand cut the Hello Kitty pieces? I also have that sandwich press and it never seems to fit my bread right. And I love the HK cheese, if only Molly would east cheese.
Shannon, I can't believe Molly won't eat cheese! Oh my gosh. It's the first thing Paige asks for every day. I'm not even joking. LOL
For Hello Kitty's features I used a tiny oval cutter for the eyes and nose, a small circle one for the bow middle and sorta used a half of a cutter for the sides of the bow and then freehanded the curves to the middle. The whiskers were easy. :)
I stumbled upon your blog, because everyone knows I love Hello Kitty , and someone sent me this link to see this post! omg I love it! This is awesome! Love your blog, I am so glad I found it!
