It's Muffin Tin Monday time again!
This week the scheduled themes started back up, with this week's assignment being "abc / alphabet".
My favorite alphabet book of all time is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. :)
This classic is well loved in our home. Our books (yes, we have more than one copy!) are well worn, the Scholastic video is frequently played (you can see an excerpt to the cute video here!), and we sing the song all the time!
I definitely wanted to pay homage to Chicka Chicka Boom Boom with this ABC muffin tin meal! This ended up being so much fun to make and my three older kids all LOVED it. :) Ethan and Paige both snacked on it together, humming the familiar tune while they munched. Owen was so excited that he just had to get the dvd out and watch it...and his very loud singing was soon filling the whole house. ;-)
The coconut tree:
- large pretzel rod trunk
- granny smith apple for tree fronds
- grapes for coconuts
The letters:
- small letters scattered all around are all various flavors of fruit leather
- the square letter cookies in the middle spots are Newman's Own alphabet cookies
- big letter A is cheddar cheese
- big letter Z is open-faced bologna sandwich
The alphabet cutters I used to cut the tiny letters out are from JList (you need all 3 sets for the whole alphabet). I like the ones from JList because they are plastic. There is no fear of rusting and I don't feel I have to baby them as much as I do metal cutters.
If plastic or JList isn't your thing Wilton

This is incredible. The tree is amazing. I love all the letters.
that is SUPER cute!! is that a regular size muffin tin or a mini one? :) my daughter's kindergarten class theme last year was chicka chicka boom boom. she loved it. and when the black eyed peas song "boom boom pow" came out, that became the class anthem. they changed it up a bit to be a little educational, it was SO adorable to watch them sing it at kindergarten graduation!
CUTE!
this is adorable! :)
What a cool tin. We love Chicka Chicka Boom Boom too.

Very fun lunch. I've never read that book. We'll have to look for it in the library :-)
absolutely amazing. What I love is that it's not just creative, but also edible and something my kids would eat!
Wow! How awesome!
I just found your website through Shalon (who did some stuff for me) - it's great! I'm looking forward to reading your older posts too. :)
I'm sooooo jealous!
Fantastic! My letter loving son would flip for that. (And I have both large and small alphabet cookie cutter sets....)
That is so cute! What a clever way to make the tin!
That is such a cute idea! I love how you incorporated the book with the snack! :)
This is just awesome! Great Muffin Tin!

This is so cute!!!
Awesome tin! Love it all, especially all the letters. I wanted to do something like that but I have no letter cutters and the prospect of doing them aall freestyle didn't appeal to me. LOL
Your Muffin Tin Meal is adorable! I simply must go and buy some of those alphabet cookie cutters. :-)
~LKB, that wouldn't appeal to me at all either! LOL
Thanks everyone! We all had a lot of fun with this one. :) And it was easy! YAY!
