summertime bento brunch

My little lady dined on this bento box this afternoon while on a "camp-out". Her campsite was in the middle of the family room under our train table. ;-)

summery snack bento!

She had a lunch kabob made with colby cheese and leftover sausage that my husband made the other night. I think it's bratwurst? I'm not sure. I think it's gross and don't eat it myself, but Paige thinks it's great and is thrilled when it makes an appearance. She also has blackberries & raspberries, cucumber slices, and a few butterfly crackers with a couple mini-heart shaped cut outs of pomegranate fruit leather.

That cucumber was grown from our very own garden! We only planted two cucumber plants and I was fully expecting them to die. Let it be known, I do not have a green thumb. But we have cucumbers o' plenty! It's very exciting. And a little challenging to keep Paige from going out and eating the cucumbers straight off the plants. Two thumb-sized not-ready-to-be-picked-yet cucumbers have already fallen victim to her impatience and voracious appetite. ;-)

Don't miss your chance to get in a few entries (by voting!!) for your chance to win. Again, THANK YOU so much for taking a minute out of your busy day to cast your votes! It's not the easiest voting set-up, but your effort is very appreciated!

I'm so inspired by your creations, that I bought Bento-style lunch boxes for my kids for the fall!! I'm so excited! I even just bought the egg molds too, as they are completely obsessed with eggs lately! Keep it coming, now I'll need lots of ideas come September!! :D

I cannot find those long picks anywhere, Melissa. That is all that is missing for me - that which is preventing me from making the world's most creative lunches. haha. HAHAHA. ya right!!

You will notice a lot of hits on your blog from Austin now, I've been shouting your praises from the rooftops on my 2 moms' lists.
