Top row: sliced boiled egg, bird-shaped cheddar cheese (the eyes are sprinkles), the third cup is my attempt at a "pond" with green bell pepper strips and ranch to dip. I actually have a bird shaped dip cup which mysteriously disappeared from my pile of supplies I had gathered for this muffin tin assignment. I'm sure one of my angelic children is to credit for that, but so far no one is 'fessing up. So I had to make due with a flower shaped one...it sort of looks like a lily pad among reeds? Can't you just imagine a duck swimming by? ;-)
Bottom row: birdie shaped crackers, a duck shaped sandwich (cream cheese and blueberry preserves, beak is cheddar cheese and eye is a sprinkle), and lastly, a clementine orange with a little penguin pick in the middle.
This was the first time I had given my little girl a whole clementine. I thought she'd pull it apart into segments, but instead she just picked it up and ate it like one would do with a whole apple. It made quite the juicy sticky mess, but she thought it was wonderful and said happily, "look mama, I eat my orange like a big boy!", spoken like just like a little sister in quest to keep up with her two big brothers! ;-)

this is cute, and the pond is amazing.
one of my twins ( the one minute younger one) eats oranges this way. it`s horrible for me but he loves it.
I love the cheddar cheese birds. Made me think of the Partridge Family - lol. The duck shaped sandwich sounds yummy!
Oh my gosh that is so cute and creative! I wish my little one could a wider variety of foods....she is allergic to a large number of food groups and I've tried adding some back in with no success.
Super Cute!!
Great job! All your birds look awesome and the pond is great!
Awesome tin!!! I've fallen off the muffin tin wagon myself and was going to get back on but decided this theme wasn't going to work with anything I had in the house. LOL
love the pond so creative how did you do there tiny eyes... what do you use what company do you buy tools from... Is Jlist expensive for shipping from japan???
Super cute! I love the pond idea. So creative!! I still haven't introduced hard boiled eggs to my little one. I may just have to do that one of these days.
Thanks for the nice comments everyone! :)
Nf1andprek-whisper - I get the tools from different places: Amazon, cooking supply shops, random places, really! Some of my more bento-related supplies have come from stores that sell bento stuff and JList. The shipping isn't too terrible for JList. For intance, right now I have about $40 worth of items in my online cart and the shipping on it will be $10. It's a lot cheaper than ebay, at least. :)
The eyes were made with sprinkles!
It's so colorful! Thank you for sharing. I am currently looking for bento type tools. I can't seem to find much in SC. I will check out JList. Thanks for the info :o)
the pond is my favorite....such a fantastic job!
I love all your birds. Each one is so cute.
This is just beautiful! And the pond is perfect. Did you use cutters for the cheddar cheese birds, or cut them out with a knife?
Thank you, Zhana! The birds were made with cutters. They are from a set of bird-shaped cutters in a few different sizes (they all nest together). :)
Love your tin..the "grass and pond" was wicked creative! Totally loving your blog, thanks for popping by mine today. Of to browse your bento lunches :)
Such a cute lunch tin. I love the pond.

This is hands down my favorite post of yours ever. I LOVE IT!! I think you may have inspired me to try Muffin Tin Mondays. How much advance noticed do you get for themes?
Tifani, there is usually a couple weeks notice, but it varies. Next week is "flowers", I think. :) The info is posted in the upper right side column of her blog.
I was thinking of you and the muffin tins today. Have you seen the nibble tray by Dr. Sears for "Zak"? I don't have an opinion on the doctor one way or another, but I love the lidded/divided tray with the dip section. My finicky 3yo loves his afternoon snack combos in the fun container. Just curious if you had seen it! :) MM

Oh goodness, that is the cutest! I haven't seen that before. You might just be seeing that here soon! :p I've been scoping out boxes for my littlest guy lately, so I'm in the market. Thanks for sharing! :)
I was so sad we had to miss this week. But I had no idea what to do even if we could have participated. Your ideas are so cute! I really need to start working on this more.
